CABS / LIMOS (FROM AIRPORT)
A fixed tariff is applied to all cabs and limousines to the downtown core. The journey to the Marriott Eaton Centre by (cab) is Cdn$46.00 and (limo) is Cdn$50.00, plus tip of approximately 15%. The trip can take from 40 minutes to over an hour, depending on traffic.

Pre-Booking
Pre-booking is not required for passengers leaving the airport. Taxis and limos are available at the Arrivals Level of each terminal. However, if you would like to pre-arrange a cab or limo service, the following may help:

SHUTTLE BUS (FROM AIRPORT)
Pacific Western Airport Express (Airport to Downtown Toronto Service) The bus picks up on the Arrivals Level of Terminals 2 and 3, and at Terminal 1 on the Arrivals Level (Post B3). All buses are wheelchair accessible and also have front kneeling doors for easier access. Destinations include the Downtown Bus Terminal, as well as several major downtown hotels. The closest stops to the Marriott Hotel are the Downtown Bus Station or the Delta Chelsea Hotel (walk south on Bay Street from the Delta Chelsea Hotel to the Marriott).

BUS / TTC (FROM AIRPORT)
Public transportation is cheap, but rather tricky with lots of luggage. The fare is Cdn$2.75 (exact change only). Board the TTC Bus called "192 Airport Rocket" at Pearson Airport. Ask the bus driver for a "transfer". This will allow you to ride the subway for free. The bus will take you to Kipling subway station. From Kipling Station take the Bloor-Danforth (Green) subway line to the Bloor-Yonge Station. At the Bloor-Yonge Station transfer to the Yonge-University-Spadina (Yellow) subway line to the Dundas Station. From the Dundas Station walk West along Dundas Street until you reach Bay Street. The hotel is a half-a-block South (turn left) at 525 Bay Street. The total trip time is 40-60 minutes.

RENTAL CAR
Highways 409 and 427 provide direct freeway access to the Toronto Pearson International Airport. Other highway routes leading to the airport include Highways 400, 401, 403, 407, 410 and the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). Please check with your rental car company for specific directions to the Marriott.

For those driving from Pearson International, take Highway 427 South to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) East, to the Gardiner Expressway East. Take Gardiner eastbound and exit York/Bay Streets. Take Bay Street north. The hotel is on the right, just north of Queen Street. Self-Parking or Valet-Parking are available at current rates. TRAIN

VIA Rail's Toronto station is Union Station. Either take a short cab ride to the Marriott, or the TTC to get off at Dundas Station. You can also exit Union Station and turn right and walk to Bay Street (it should be the first set of traffic lights you see).

BUS
There is a bus stop across the street from the hotel. The Bay bus lets you off at Dundas Street, 1/2 block north of the Marriott.

GOING HOME - RETURNING TO THE AIRPORT
The Marriott Concierge will be happy to pre-book a cab for you to the airport.

If you are travelling back to the United States, you will pre-clear US customs in Toronto. Therefore, you should allow at least 1 1/2 hours before your flight to check-in, as US customs can sometimes get very busy. If you are leaving the convention on the Sunday, travel time to the airport will be approximately 40 minutes by cab.

For international departures, you should allow approximately two hours before your flight to check-in.

Air Canada flies into Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport from most major cities around the world. It also flies to/from Ottawa only on weekdays into Toronto's Island Airport (http://www.torontoairport.com/airport-info/toronto-island.php).

PLEASE NOTE: AS FROM JANUARY 1, 2007, ALL AIR AND SEA TRAVEL BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA WILL REQUIRE PASSPORTS FOR US AND CANADIAN CITIZENS. THIS WILL ONLY APPLY TO LAND TRAVEL BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES IN 2008.

CUSTOMS & TAXES

If you meet the minimum age requirements of the province or territory you are entering (18 years old in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec; 19 years old elsewhere), visitors can, for their own use, bring into Canada duty- and tax-free 1.5 litres of wine, or 1.14 litres (40 ounces) of liquor, or 24 x 12-ounce bottles or cans of beer or ale. You are also allowed to bring in a maximum of 200 cigarettes duty- and tax-free. It is against Canadian law to bring firearms or other weapons such as Mace and pepper spray into the country.

Although everyone has to pay an 8% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) and 3% Destination Marketing Fee, the 6% Goods and Services Tax (GST) spent on short-term accommodation is refundable to non-Canadian citizens, who can also claim the tax back on goods purchased in Canada and taken back to the buyer's country of origin (except such excisable goods as alcohol, wine and tobacco products) and gasoline. You must spend a minimum of $200 CDN and each receipt must be for a minimum of $50 CDN and the goods must be removed from Canada within sixty (60) days of delivery to the non-resident visitor.
